Pros

The initial company culture was positive and collaborative. I enjoyed working with some very smart and passionate people that are a part of this team. I was given the opportunity to learn a new skillset, which was valuable for my career growth. The benefits were decent, but the pay was not competitive and raises eventually became non-existent.

Cons

The CEO initially took a hands-off approach, but in the last year became more involved and began making changes that negatively impacted morale and hurt overall company performance. His frequent and often passive-aggressive rants during team meetings created a tense work environment. Real skills and ability were often overlooked in favor of those who were more willing to "kiss up" to leadership and outwardly show how stressed they were. The CEO appreciates when people "lose sleep at night" over their jobs. I was efficient, organized, and did my job well but apparently wasn't enthusiastic or stressed enough. An increase in micromanagement and frequent changes for the sake of change created a confusing and unproductive work environment. Time tracking all of your tasks became mandatory for everyone except upper management and the sales team. The sales team consistently struggled to close deals and blamed external factors rather than taking responsibility for their own performance. I've now learned than many competitors in the industry do not have this same issue and don't default to blaming the election. The departure of several key employees who helped maintain the positive company culture, significantly impacted the company's morale and overall success. The company is currently experiencing financial difficulties, which ultimately led to layoffs including myself. There is definitely a lack of stability and the future of Firm Media is foggy.

Pros

I left Firm Media many years ago due to personal reasons, but the influence this company—and its people—have had on me has never faded. Even after my departure, I’ve remained close with many of the team members, especially the leadership. The CEO and CFO have never hesitated to support me, whether it was job applications or writing a recommendation letter for my master’s program. That kind of support is rare. Firm Media helped shape who I am professionally and personally. The company fosters a culture of genuine care and personal growth. Yes, you’re expected to put in the work (as with any great job), but if you show up and do your part, you’ll be met with unwavering support. Years later, I still keep in touch with many of the people there and continue to cheer on their growth from afar. It’s a truly special place—one that leaves a lasting impact long after you move on.

Cons

Leaders are going to be blunt with you, don't take it personal, it's not about you.

Pros

Earlier today, I received an email notifying me that Firm Media leadership had left a response attached to my original review of my experience with the company. Id like to share my thoughts about that. It’s true. Firm Media is a place that welcomes talent, diversity, and creativity. That part of his response is absolutely true. In addition to being talented, the people I worked with were hardworking, earnest, and genuinely cared about producing wonderful work for the company and their clients. Unfortunately , I saw so many of these people be worn down by management, myself included, with mind games, overwhelming workloads, and empty promises.

Cons

Hi! Real life former employee here. I left an honest review of MY experience at Firm Media a while back and I am, in fact, NOT a bot. I am hurt that would try to get my review removed and then, when unsuccessful with that, would leave a response on my review that attempts to diminish my voice. The common negative sentiment seen across these reviews isn’t due to some nefarious plot from a former disgruntled employee. It is, however, a mirror being held up to leadership and they aren’t comfortable knowing that they don’t really treat their people well. I wish they would sit with the discomfort and then learn from it. The frequency of the reviews in the past year closely matches the frequency of departures from the company. About FORTY people have left since 2023. That should be a wake up call, not the start of a conspiracy theory/witch hunt. Lastly, to speak to the anonymity of the people leaving reviews. It’s common knowledge among current and former employees that there have been threats of legal action to past employees. So, of course we want to be anonymous.
