Finning Response

Thanks for your feedback, we are continually working to attract and retain top talent because we know our biggest competitive advantage is our people. Finning measures the diverse representation of our employees across multiple dimensions, including gender identity. While we have over 30% representation of females on our board, and over 25% in leadership roles, our leaders acknowledge the low representation of female talent in our sales and operational roles so we are working with organizations such as Catalyst, Women Building Futures, Minerva, and CCWESTT to accelerate progress. In addition to working hard to improve the diversity of our talent we are working to improve the inclusivity of our culture. An inclusive culture requires a collaborative effort across our leadership, employees as well as our policies, processes, and programs. To that end, Finning is on a journey to build safe, talented, and inclusive teams where everyone feels safe, valued, and a sense of belonging.

Pros

Good and hard working employees for the most part, standard industry benefits and great business model for growth

Cons

Many changes within BP&S team in the past few months without leadership or strategic approach; Hiring and keeping expensive contractors instead of keeping knowledgable employees. The CIO acts as a bully and there is no oversight on his costly decisions and the chaos he has created. He was given the ultimate authority by the past leadership team and since they have left Finning, the new leadership team has not assessed CIO’s negative impact and outcomes so far. Moral is low and BP&S employees seem lost while the new CIO brings in more of his people on high paid roles and contracts.
