Pros
Stress-free and laid back company. Good benefits and taking vacation or sick days isn't an issue at all. The company welcomes thinking outside the box; just as long as it fixes the problem. Friendly work environment and the people are really nice. Amongst the hourly salary group, you have 15+ yrs of experience easily for such a fairly large facility.
Cons
Directly from an executives mouth, "This is a flat company: Do not expect to grow/develop." There is no career growth here. Turn-over in salary positions is high b/c of this. Morale is down across ALL departments. A lot of positions magically get created to bump certain people's pay nicely aka the buddy system only to be dissolved and unavailable for others to move into only after 2-3 years; just ask during your interview or if you're hired how long certain positions have been around. It's sadly comical. A lot of ppl recognize this game. This is not a performance driven company it's all about who you know and if you fit a profile. HR plays a larger role than your direct manager in your qualifications for a raise. A spending freeze has been in effect most of 2015; after new owners were brought in. No one knows if this will change in 2016- meaning fair raises and promotions weren't given and capital expense projects were hardly approved because cashflow a huge push. The bonus structure was changed from 50/50 to .333/.333/.333, making it harder for ppl to get the max or close to the max bonus. A 50+ year old company and very disorganized and unorthodox methodologies.
