Pros

The people are truly amazing - smart, collaborative, and genuinely invested in the work and each other. The company has experienced impressive growth over the past 7 years, with strong leadership that has navigated major challenges — including COVID, economic swings, tech industry layoffs, and rising interest rates — while maintaining a relatively stable headcount. Small teams create opportunities for ownership, visibility, and real impact. There’s often a short ramp-up period, so self-starters who are comfortable figuring things out and doing their own research tend to thrive. Leadership generally stays ahead of the curve and seems to genuinely consider both company stability and employee well-being. There’s a lot of room for growth if you’re proactive, attentive, and good at anticipating needs. Fast pace, constant change, and a culture that rewards initiative.

Cons

The bar is high, and there’s not much room for underperformance. Teams are lean, so if someone isn’t pulling their weight, it can lead to burnout for others. There’s limited structure and very little hand-holding. This isn’t the right environment for people who need a lot of guidance or constant direction. The workload ebbs and flows. Some weeks are long and demanding, while others are more relaxed. But if you’re looking for a strict 9-to-5 or a role that consistently stays under 40 hours per week, this may not be the best fit.

Pros

I have been with Figure for 5 years, starting as an Associate Engineer and growing into a Senior Engineer. This company has genuinely changed my life and helped me build the kind of future I dreamed about when I was first starting out in college. I’ve worked alongside truly excellent engineers, been given meaningful growth opportunities, and have been more than fairly compensated along the way, including raises that kept my pay highly competitive even between promotions. The work is engaging, challenging, and keeps me sharp. The culture is one of the best parts of the company: a rare blend of fast iteration, high ownership, strong engineering talent, and controlled chaos in the best possible way. Figure moves quickly, embraces emerging technology, and continues to grow without losing the energy that makes it exciting to work here.

Cons

The pace may not be for everyone. Figure has a startup-like culture where things move fast, priorities can shift, and teams are expected to adapt quickly. I personally find that refreshing and motivating because it keeps the work from becoming monotonous. However, people coming from environments where change is slower or processes are more rigid may need time to adjust.

Pros

Free health insurance, the option to work from home, pay was good.

Cons

They hire and fire at will. They have no real training program. They throw all this stuff at you and advise to take notes, then they tell you that you have 3 assessments to take. They tell you that you cant look at any of the documents or tools that they provided to you to do the job. How they expect you to know all that is impossible. Then they let you to believe that you passed and put you on the floor doing the job. Two days later they call you after you go home, to say oh you didnt pass training.. You didnt get the score of 85. Did not matter that I was doing the job and getting high QA scores. and they dont let you repeat training, they just fire you. You are just a number to them and not a human being.
