Pros

There really isn't any pros.

Cons

From what I was interviewed for and what I ended up doing were substantially different. When I interviewed, I was told I would be doing high level projects to build the machining aspect of the business. On my first day, I learned that the manager that hired me was let go and a coworker that was going to do the day to day activities like troubleshooting machines, fixing them, hand programming, etc was also canned. So, then I was told that I would be doing all the setups, running jobs, hand programming, working in the machines, etc. Well, I have a bachelors in engineering and always done higher level activities. No where in my resume did it say I knew how to operate machines. I know the basics hands on but that's it. Management of the site had 0 clue to who I was when I started nor has he seen my resume...I am not entirely certain he has even seen the job description I was hired for because he did ask me after a couple weeks why I was hired. I had no idea why I was hired considering what I interviewed for was completely different. This place is also super unethical. Its written into several contracts that you cannot rework parts, it's just scrap well they separate the scrap and force you to rework them on the "engineering" lathe. The morning 9am meetings are a bunch of BS too. They go over the night issues and ask what the problem is and how to fix it. Gee, I don't know, I just got in 75 minutes ago and third shift is gone. It will take time to investigate. It's also comical too that non engineering will argue with you if they deem your corrective action is wrong. Ok, if you know better then you go fix it. The HD cell in the second building is hilarious. Engineering agreed to a HD print without consulting a real engineer. One side of an OD thread was used as a datum with a very tight tolerance. No. Threads should never, ever being used a datum due to process variation. Spent countless hours trying to fix a thread rolling process that cannot be fixed (don't believe me, consult the machinery's handbook) due to process variation. Also, the roll forming supplier laughed at the print too. But you know, management do not listen nor do they care what you say. I absolutely regret ever stepping foot in this hole. On top of all this, the pay is super low (I needed to work at the time). They advertise the monthly profit sharing as making up for the lower salary but you don't get that until after 6 months but they stopped doing that too in 2020. Another selling point was the week you get for the holiday shutdown that is paid. That also got eliminated and were forced to use a week of you vacation time.
