Cons
My experience at Farestart was traumatic. As a woman of color, I worked on the data team and worked hard to secure a position in the Tableau data fellowship they were offering at the time. But the CFO, after approving of my participation, refused to let me participate in the full fellowship program, and so my fellowship was given to a white male in the company who did nothing to earn it. The CFO also accused me of not properly informing him of all the requirements of the fellowship, even though I sent him all the documentation and he had officially signed off on my participation in the program. The highest levels of leadership at the company knew about his behavior - including the head of HR and the CEO - and they did nothing. It was a terrible experience, and if they treat their employees this way I can only imagine how the people they serve must be treated and impacted.
