Pros
For the most part, others in the department are hardworking and responsible. There is opportunity to work from home one day a week.
Cons
Overall, the company is shady when it comes to how they treat employees. Management does NOT listen to suggestions on how to positively motivate employees, causing a high tension level and dissatisfaction throughout the department. There is high attrition (40+ employees in 2.5 years) due to people finding better employment, positions being eliminated (without any warning to the people losing their jobs), or termination. There is favoritism towards people who refuse to do their job, so in turn the management pass on their work to others instead of enforcing their job responsibilities. There are very few people that I know of in the Claims department that are happy with their job, and overall most people feel very underappreciated and stressed by the environment that management has created. Regardless of how they may behave towards you, the managers and head of the department (Melissa Lizotte) can deal with people in an underhanded way and do not take employees concerns seriously. The attendance guidelines are not family friendly, and do not support the company's claim that employee safety during inclement weather (building does not close during bad weather and employees who feel that it is too dangerous to drive receive an occurrence if their group is not in rotation to be able to miss work)
