Pros

Great students, nice coworkers. Pretty good pay, all things considered. Significant flexibility in curriculum design; you can teach how you like, usually. Many opportunities for proffessional and personal growth

Cons

Onboarding was late and rushed. Provided curriculums were wholly inadequate for each and every course I taught. At times they were not provided until the morning of the course or even a few days into ir. Impromptu curriculum development/lesson planning/research, though often necessary to run class smoothly, is largely underappreciated, unpaid, and overly cumbersome to submit. Instructors are expected to juggle multiple responsibilities with minimal or zero prep time. I was once expected to teach 4 courses at once. Communication from management was sparse and inconsistent, and expectations were unclear and wishy-washy. Do not expect replies to most emails, or even for them to be read. Extraordinarily limited support or backup with handling classroom, staffing, and/or curriculum issues(see above). Instructors usually left to fend for themselves, which, to be fair, was somewhat liberating at times. Despite the history of the company(10-20+ years), it will seem as though this is everyone's first time doing anything, based on incompentency and the lack of standard operating procedures one might might in any other job. Materials/supplies for more hands-on courses are always incomplete by at least a few items, if not more. Location directors and location assistants often are no where to be found or show up very late.
