"Toronto Technician" Thank your for taking the time to post your thoughts. Glassdoor is a great forum to enable open communication. Thrilled you feel heard and supported by our Toronto Management Team. Study after study proves an employee's immediate manager is single most important factor in their satisfaction and engagement. As you indicate there are some periods of "crazy" work hours right now. That's a by-product of being part of a fast paced, growing company. Rest assured your local leaders and HR are working hard recruiting Technicians to provide relief. What concerns me about your post is your Neutral Outlook on FMAV and Disapproval of the CEO (me). Our objective is to have every FMAV employee excited about our future and proud of their part in building it. It appears my team and I have work to do here. I also welcome your feedback on how I can better support you and our overall Toronto team. Unfortunately, your review does not provide any clues on how to do so. I would welcome a conversation on these items to determine how we can improve. If you are comfortable doing so, please reach out. Recognizing that might not be the case you could provide the feedback through Toronto management, HR or printed notes in an envelope that preserve your anonymity . It's difficult to know where to focus without more detail. Look forward to improving our company together.

Pros

Nice to be part of a growing business I love the travel / overtime

Cons

Lack of communication from our CEO. Not sure where we are headed. He said he would have monthly webinars to communicate with us but that has fallen flat. Empty promises! I have been lurking on this site for several weeks when it was pointed out to me by my friend. I have seen the management response to the August 1, 2018 review change at least 3 times. Seems that management is struggling to find the right words to cover up for the lack of awareness of their employees outside businesses. The employee manual rules and punishments seem to exist for everyone except the CEO's friends.

Dear “Confused Employee”: Thanks for your review. Very glad you enjoy being part of a growing national business that provides opportunity for travel and lots of hours. Not sure where you are coming from with your comment regarding webinars. Since announcing our 2018 Internal Communications Plan last November we have done quite a lot, including: -Webinars in the months of November, December, February, March, April, two webinars in June and one scheduled this week. -All Branch Meeting across seven offices in January celebrating our President’s Award winners and those who received peer nominations. -National Town Halls in Operations and Sales in January and February. -Local meetings led by Branch Management. For example, during the summer Toronto held it's "World Cup" Town Hall and party in June and followed that up with a similar "Water" themed event in August. Rather than "empty promises", the Communications Program is for the most part unfolding as I laid out last year. That said, I am sure we can improve how we communicate with employees and am open to any suggestions you may have. If you didn’t see the emails or have a chance to attend the webinars, they are all available for viewing from our Intranet. Your observation about changes to the August 1 Management Response is correct. We currently have two individuals who are able to respond to reviews. The original response was posted by our Director, People, Performance & Values. I inadvertently opened the response and Glassdoor changed the author’s name to me. Correcting the error resulted in the response being edited twice. Please note there were no changes to the original messaging at any point. You are entitled to your opinion on matters related to Conflict of Interest. However, as previously communicated no one in senior management has breached the FMAV Conflict of Interest policy by having an inactive company. It's worth noting that its the responsibility of the employee to declare potential conflict of interest to their immediate manager. We appreciate that people care enough about FMAV to share their thoughts on Glassdoor. Both the praise and criticism are insightful and help us understand the areas to address in our organization. However, direct communication with your manager, senior manager, HR or me is the most effective way to positively impact the organization.

Pros

Had great people and customers.

Cons

We've lost a lot of great people with no one of the same calibre coming on board. Still dont truss leadership. Still rumblings of many walking. The sale of the company was the beginning of what will be the end of an era.
