Pros
Decent pay and benefits. Flexible remote policy. No forcing people back to office. Some good colleagues working there. Good to learn compliance side of the broker dealer industry.
Cons
First of all, way too much politics. FINRA is more like a government agency than a private company, politics is more important than anything else here. There is no trust here, the system sets each team up to promote their own agenda. Secondly, the Technology organization lacks real leadership, most VPs have been here 10+ years, have no real options elsewhere, and thus have no desire to change the culture at FINRA. People aren't valued for their contribution, turn over has been very high this year, many whom are long time employee fed up with the toxic culture. No top down technology strategy, execution across teams very chaotic, high pressure deadline driven environment. Leaders care about milestones, and delivery dates, rather than solving real problems.
