Pros
Amazing health benefits, progressive intelligent co workers. Lots of high tech toys and technology to learn. Good bonus and incentive plan. Awesome stock options and the stock is worth a lot if you stay two+ years. Lots of cool security tech to learn. Company is moving to a big tower building next to Columbia tower by January, so commute will get better soon.
Cons
Company is very late the the cloud market and playing catch up. Virtual edition of Big IP was released a few years ago but should be been released 6 years ago during the cloud boom The current Seattle commute sucks if you’re farther south than Renton or farther north than North Gate. Also for NSE 2 role there is no current work from home option. Pay isn’t good for current Seattle housing/rental market if you want to support a family with 1 earner. Very little openings to advance at the company to tier 3 (engineering). It seems they are choosy on filling those very limited slots. Recently an entire east coast support office (300 employees or so) got laid off. And a new office in Mexico opened, makes sense because cheaper wages... they told us not to worry about our jobs but I’m skeptical. Support policies make it difficult to say no kindly to some very pushy and demanding customers that expect much more than they pay for. Consulting still has huge communication gaps with support, especially for large unsupported super custom setups that are essentially a giant coding project. Yet customers expect to call support and get it fixed free..
