Full disclosure - I still work at Expertise Events and am part of the leadership team. If you want to work in the exhibition industry, or have a great personality and approach, there is a lot to enjoy in what we do. We run some amazing events and do some very creative and innovative approaches which are well recognised in the industry. The team all deliver fantastic customer service and it is a major feedback point from our clients across the board. If you're in a junior role such as an event co-ordinator, there are many options for you to progress your career within Expertise and further into the industry. This year the culture has changed significantly. We are aware that for people to be successful we need to get the right people for the roles so that they enjoy it and are able to succeed. We are working very hard to continue to improve this aspect of the business.
Cons
The major challenge the company faces are the changes that many of the industries we work in are facing. Whilst there are some exciting opportunities lined up, there is pressure for a sustainable plan to be implemented. This is not an industry that involves coasting and relaxing. If you are part of the team onsite, you will be working weekends and doing long days when onsite! There is no expectation of weekend or extra hours if you're in the office - at all.
