Pros
Pay, pay, pay; Culture; Diversity and inclusion; great potential to grow personally and professionally; Jon security is a non issue, they very rarely lay off or terminate employees; huge emphasis on safety; The company invests a lot in its work force: any training you can imagine from leadership, to negotiating, etc. Most departments are very well resourced. Overtime is plentiful in busy departments.
Cons
Rigid leadership from director level and above. Some departments are not overworked so have challenges like being clique-ey, other departments (mine) are very very busy and employees need to work 50+ hrs a week to stay on top of workload. Innovation is sorely needed, and although senior leadership understands this and are vocal about supporting it somewhere along the line the execution falls apart. Instead of the vertical management model, there needs to be a lot more of horizontal structure, with the highest level executives working in the trenches with individual contributers and owning innovation initiatives.
