The company is rotten from the top down. The directors are full of self importance, old fashioned views and ways of working, and only willing to see their own way of doing things. The other senior managers are only expected to nod and go along with whatever they're told, so have no real authority to do anything. You could even feel sorry for them. If you dare to question anything you'll get beaten down and end up with a target on your back, which is the way it's always been. The bureau teams are constantly fed empty promises of opportunities for career progression, when nothing really exists for them. Its just a way to get more out of them while they can.
Don't believe what they tell you about their culture and values! They don't exist anywhere apart from on pieces of paper they like to stick everywhere so it looks like they care. Nobody actually believes in them, least of all the senior management, unless there's a social media opportunity to comment and look like they all care deeply about the people! Don't be fooled!
Do yourself a favour - don't get involved with this company unless it's a last resort or you have no ambition for anything else.
