Pros

Hours are fairly flexible and pay is reasonable.

Cons

CEO and Upper Management seems to solely be focused on profits and money. I was hired under the impression that it was a fun and flexible work environment, but as months passed there were no company events, no extra-curricular bonding moments, etc. "Dog friendly" work environment wasn't too open and friendly. Double standards were evident regarding the "Work from Home" policy - some people could work from home without any hesitation, but others were met with push-back. Etail Solutions let go of 3 others (including a VP) within 2 months. Training is incredibly unstructured as well.

Thank you for your feedback. We have taken some steps to clarify the work from home policy to remove the ambiguity you discussed. It is effectively a formalization of our previous stance which was that flexibility was earned after performance was verified. I will say “guilty as charged” in relation to being focused on money, cash-flow, and profits – it’s my job. We have survived and even thrived over the last 10 years as a boot-strapped company. We currently have no institutional investors (VC/PE), and ensuring that we have team members who can perform their duties is a part of keeping the organization healthy for the people who are a good fit here at Etail Solutions. Lastly, none of the partners in the business, including myself, have taken a single dollar out of the company other than normal wages since the inception of the company. Every dollar of profit has gone back into the company to support/drive growth. Regarding the sense of community, as with many organizations, it is what you make of it. In Q4 we have 4 potluck events, a Halloween costume contest, Mo-vember, and Secret Santa (so far). Hope you find what you are looking for.

Pros

Etail is a great company to work for! If you're in MN it's got the best of both worlds with a local presence, with the flexibility of mostly remote work dynamic. Local team collaborates in office when needed, otherwise enjoy the flexibility of work from home most of the time! This company really embraces technology to connect it's teams and run it's business in the smartest ways possible.

Cons

For those that like an in-office team feel, or having lots of peers next to you in the office, you won't get that day to day at Etail. Small team means you frequently wear multiple hats.

Pros

• Responsive to career path requests that have allowed me to take on multiple roles in customer solution delivery and product teams • Provide rewards and incentives to match my level of commitment • Flexible working environment and depending upon role can work remotely • Constant focus on building team/company identity by focus on regular company updates, sharing of information, team building and/or social events • Last year needed to take 6+ month leave; Etail was very supportive and did everything possible to minimize personal/financial stress during this time; welcomed me back and accommodated my new limitations into a meaning role within the company • Never bored and have the opportunity to directly see the results of your efforts to improve a customer business

Cons

• At times it can be high stress/longer hours as we focus on hitting customer commitments or business needs • Need to be a self-motivated problem solver and willing to work through various process/product roadblocks by collaborating with other team members • Focus is on incremental improvements in process/product versus giant steps to minimize risk and/or respond to evolving market needs; can seem like a treadmill of continuous challenges if you do not see the need to mitigate in the short term while you take action to improve the future
