Pros
The school looks like great place to work at first; great security, friendly students, and a clean, well- lit building with smart boards in every classroom. People who talk about the great benefits here have probably never worked for a charter or non-profit before. They are great, but pretty standard.
Cons
Even the most basic elements for a school are not in place. Young and inexperienced staff who do not take initiative to learn about their jobs. Transparent favoritism. If you liked cliques in high school and were popular, you will probably fit in here. 10% of employees do 90% of the work. No one will be interested in your experience even if you are an expert in your field. Repeated suggestions to administration will be rebutted or ignored. While excuses for underperforming favorite staff people are constantly provided.
