Pros
The management was very hands-on and other employees were very helpful during the training process. It was a generally enjoyable experience working alongside creative, kind, patient, and competent women who cared about children and their education. The opportunity to learn was immense and had a positive impact on my life.
Cons
The salary for a student part-time worker is extremely low, so don't expect much in terms of compensation. Depending on the demand for teachers and the class size, you might be relocated to any of the classrooms across the city, so take into account the time spent commuting alone! At times I felt more like a kindergarten teacher, rather than an English teacher, but that may be down to preferences on the age group you'll be working with. Keep in mind that there will be work outside of work: preparing the classes, filling in Excel sheets and other requirements, so work-life balance isn't the best.
