Old School, Outdated, and Broken - Senior Analyst Epicor Software Employee Review

Pros

Work life balance is definitely here. Flexible time off has been amazing.

Cons

Disjointed leadership is an understatement. Digital strategy and positioning changes weekly and they have no way of communicating this effectively downward, so everyone’s always confused. Executive leadership is very old school and the overall culture here is pretty lackluster and inauthentic. There’s a huge lack of trust that starts at the top and trickles down to teams. The micromanagement is so strong and nothing like I’ve ever seen before. There’s also no form review process for direct reports to formally review their boss — how backwards is that? There sure is a review process for all direct reports to get evaluated upon, but nothing for us to provide formal feedback on our direct leader. Then when you see these leaders continue to rack up promotions without having any of their direct reports weigh in on how they actually are as a leader, it’s incredibly hard to watch. Needless to say, HR is subpar here. There’s little to no communication about important matters that go on at Epicor, diversity is clearly not a top priority, and there’s an overall incredible lack of professionalism that weaves throughout their team. Lastly, the company is trying to build a digital skyscraper off of a pathetic foundation due to non-existent processes and an incredibly lean operations team. Figure it, hire the right people, out or y’all will collapse. It’s quite surprising how broken Epicor actually is on the inside.

Pros

It’s been a really positive experience working at Epicor. I’ve had the chance to work on meaningful roles, partner closely with great teams, and continue learning along the way. The people here make a big difference—there’s a strong sense of collaboration, and it feels like everyone is working toward the same goals. Overall, it’s been a place where I’ve been able to grow and actually enjoy the day-to-day.

Cons

Like any company in a growth stage, things can move quickly at times, which can come with its challenges—but this is something Leadership is aware of and being cautious about.

Cons

- It is easy to fade into the background if you don't have a center-stage role, you need to step up to make yourself visible; otherwise, you're at risk of career and reward stagnation - Like most companies, cost and timing are major contributing factors when deciding on the tools leadership make generally available to individual contributors - you're bound to be disappointed if you expect to have the latest and greatest of everything without first providing a value proposition to a senior leader. Be ready to invest personal time building use cases and gathering data to make strong cases for solutions you think will add value to your team and have a positive impact on the organizational strategy
