Pros

-If you are a US employee you have very good benefits such as 100% covered medical insurance. -The entire company has a summer and winter break, guaranteeing 4 weeks off per year, plus additional vacation days (varies per country). -Epic pay is mostly generous, they pay at quite a high market value for most roles. -Work life balance on the people team was reasonable although this can be more difficult if you are not based on the east coast as you are expected to shift your hours in some cases. -I actually believe that Tim is a good person. He offered a lot to the employees during covid and tries to avoid lay offs at all costs.

Cons

There has been a lot of negative change at Epic that has led to management and leadership issues. The company grew drastically in my time there, it was irresponsible and unorganized. Constantly acquiring companies with no reasoning and making mass and rapid hires that led to bonuses being almost none existent for the average employee. All while higher ups are able to retire on their fortunes at very young ages. This also led to a cap on salaries and new hire bonuses. There are severe communication issues from the top down that cause huge delays in decision making and leave employees in the dark for months on end. This has led to a distinct shift in the way middle management treats their employees and on multiple occasions I saw middle managers taking actions to protect themselves at the company rather than doing what is morally right. My manager actively became bias and inappropriate towards the end of my employment (after providing months of feedback). This being the main reason why I left. Being part of the people team I expected there to be morals around diversity, equity and inclusion. The company basically freaked out during the BLM movement and decided they didn't want to get in trouble, so they created a diversity team. The diversity team is a joke, and the person in charge only values making change within their own minority. They push their own agendas regardless of whether it's beneficial to what you are trying to achieve or not. There was also a huge uproar where people left the company over having visible pronouns, which was very upsetting. Overall, it's not the worst company in the world but there is a lot of inequality and internal politics.

Pros

- Amazing benefits and pay - Work with some of the most talented folks in the industry - Move quickly and ship a lot - Have the freedom to make a lot of impact - Not political and a no nonsense place, just a lot of talented and passionate folks wanting to do good work

Cons

- Company strategy can shift quickly which can feel chaotic for many people, change is a part of life at Epic - Lots of teams work long hours, not all teams but it’s common

Pros

Great Benefits, people you work with are all top notch in their fields.

Cons

No growth opportunities or raises at all. I've been here for 4 years and since then have only had 1 notable raise and no promotions. Constant turnover and loss of talent due to over-worked stress and no sense of work/life balance. Management are all incompetent and won't ever take accountability for their terrible actions. "Fast-paced" environment is what they tell you but it's just another way of saying they will over-work you and give you no rewards. C-suite is even more out of touch with their employees and consumers. Constant pivots and changes out of nowhere because some L8 or L9 didn't like it and no one will push back otherwise you get laid off. I was here since 2022 and it has just gone downhill ever since COVID. Layoffs are a clear indicator of a company under-performing and the fact that none of the people involved with the bad decisions were touched indicates that this will continue happening. Terrible place to grow and pay isn't much better.
