Pros

Hard working team. The founder isnt afraid to get her hands dirty.

Cons

High turnover of staff. Really low morale. Too many egos 'Mean girl' senior managers. A COO with no operations experience, on a constant power trip. A bully CMO with no people skills. Bullies and belittles people. Is only in the role as freinds with the founder. Bad tempered and arrogant CTO, loves to intimidate people, wont listen to anyone that criticises his website.

Thank you for your review of your experience of working with Enterprise Nation. It's vital for us as a rapidly growing company to see honest feedback, although we would love it if you could speak to us about it – there’s still time! Being honest as well, seeing it on here makes us feel quite sad, especially those individuals you have called out. But we appreciate these are difficult conversations to have face-to-face. While the points of view you have listed are quite personal, we will certainly take these points on board and consider how we come across. As a female-founded and led business, it’s so hard to get the balance right and perhaps we have to work on that. As a business, Enterprise Nation has experienced a period of enormous and unprecedented growth and the economic climate has made the support we offer to the UK’s small business community more important than ever. It’s a complicated landscape that’s constantly changing. 2022 was another record year for company registrations in the UK and our own research has found a third of all adults are considering starting a business this year. They need us and the support programmes we offer. They need to know they can rely on us to guide them through. Meeting these needs has been an intense journey for the team and not always enjoyable. We’ve had to recruit and expand our team dramatically and as part of that productivity drive, we’ve had to also increase accountability in order to meet demand. That can be tough. As you point out – we're a hard-working team. There’s absolutely no question about that. We can’t afford not to. We hope you’ll see this for what it is – an open invitation to chat.

Pros

* It's not everywhere that you get an opportunity to make a difference - but working at Enterprise Nation gives you an opportunity to really support the UK's start-up and small business community. One in three working age adults are now thinking about starting a business - and that jumps to half amongst the 18 to 24 age group. In the future we'll all have 'squiggly careers' with up to 12 jobs including periods of self-employment, side hustling or running a business full time. Enterprise Nation supports those people and it's my absolute privilege to be able to work in this exciting space with a brilliant small but committed team. * CEO is a brilliant leader and figurehead for the business * I really enjoy working with the CMO who is cannot do enough to help you * Flexible, hybrid working is really helpful for me * The company is friendly and teams work together well * Away days are generous and probably the best you'll ever get! * Opportunities to grow - everyone is allocated a training budget * Generous holiday entitlement - plus a day off for your birthday! * Because it's a small business - you get to work on high level projects at an earlier stage * You are trusted to get on with things

Cons

* Some projects take you out of your comfort zone * Working from home can sometimes make you feel out of the loop * Work is never finished - there's always something else to get done

Pros

There's a clear mission driving day to day work, and a team full of bright and determined individuals. We've got a hard-working CEO who loves the company (maybe a bit too involved?). There is a spirit of positivity and a can-do attitude; people are always willing to help each other out. There are really good perks in being able to work flexibly. The head of people has made some positive policies in that area. Great benefit added this year with healthcare insurance.

Cons

The leadership team aren't really able to lead; they're too embedded in their own roles. They don't really demonstrate clear 'who we are' mission to the team, and only measure success by output. There aren't clear paths for progression, and ultimately this means a crazy high team turnover. It does feel like there's a lot of personal relationships kicking around the team - and that these are the foundation for progression.... just one to note if you're hoping to progress here. We run too many programmes, and it feels we try to do too much sometimes; there's value to saying no! The departments act too independently, and sometimes means there's a slight tension when collaboration is needed. This could all be improved with a leadership team that encourages feedback (they actually seem to run away from feedback), collaboration, and empowers the team.
