The biggest downsides these days are that your work load as an expat teacher is going to be quite high. While this isn't always a bad thing, you'll have too many different classes to plan for and you will only see students a maximum of 4 hours a month. It's not enough to really get to know your students' needs in a timely manner. The other thing about working for them is that, in my experience at two different EF centers, I stopped being treated as a human during the last few years of my tenure and more like a robot. We were given more and more work.
