Pros

Engaged Nation is a growing, evolving company, which makes it a fun, challenging, and exciting organization to work for. It's ever-changing and you have the opportunity to learn new skills frequently. That helps keep it refreshing. Co-workers are more like family members and are always willing to help.

Cons

Self-management and organization is key. That isn't a bad thing. Everyone should strive to improve their ability to self-manage their work. But if that isn't a skill you possess, then this might not be the place for you.

Pros

Catered lunches and fun events

Cons

Copy and paste codebase, still uses PHP when there are more efficient programming languages available. Still using jQuery. Not a good place to work for developers who are comfortable with the more modern technologies.

We are continuously working to update our code base with modern technologies and frameworks. We do not "copy-paste" code; every line of code is proprietary, except for utilizing a few open-source libraries, which is a common practice. Moreover, we undergo regularly scheduled penetration, static, unit, functional, and behavioral testing. We believe collaboration is key to success, and we welcome team member suggestions, including the potential adoption of cutting-edge technologies. However, there can be stability in using what some may consider "legacy technologies."
