Pros

The work load is manageable. The co-workers are great, for the most part. Scheduling is generally very flexible. Facilityis normally clean and well maintained.

Cons

They DO NOT pay time and a half for holidays anymore if you are PRN (they used to) - which is absolutely ridiculous. But still demand that we work holidays! They do not offer 401K or any other benefits - not even at the employee's cost. (Many other companies give PRN employees the option to buy insurance, etc. at the employees cost). Pay is low compared to other area businesses. Full-time employees are catered to (as they should), but they refuse to make more full-time positions open.

Pros

Great team to work, people are always willing to help each other. The clinicians genuinely care about their patients and it shows every day. You feel like you’re making a difference in patients’ lives. Good teamwork between departments. Leadership listens to feedback and wants the hospital to keep improving. Positive work environment with coworkers who care about doing a good job.

Cons

Healthcare is busy, so some days can be stressful. Things can change quickly, so you have to be flexible. Communication between departments can always improve. Like most hospitals, staffing can be tight at times.

Pros

There is fulfillment from helping patients regain independence after injury or illness. Encompass Health promotes diversity and inclusion. There is a good work life balance. Wide range of benefits. An overall positive work environment!

Cons

Encompass could recognize more holidays for employees as well compensate salaries to match cost-of-living for the area better.
