Pros
- Diversity and inclusion are taken very seriously not just a catchphrase at Enbridfge - Employee-oriented culture with a lot of company-sponsored events, and they make sure you enjoy them -They don't just lay off people, people close to retirement are laid off first and they throw a lot of money on their packages. - Pension is also there - People are given ample opportunities to improve before they are fired; very formal and fair structure for performance management - Officially it is 3 days office and 2 days home, but during winter, people leaders are very flexible, so overall, you are working 2 days at the office, and sometimes less than that during the winter months
Cons
- Because of the pension, people have long tenures and relationships built among them, so your promotion depends not only on your performance but also on whose birthday parties and weddings you attended, hence newbies have a disadvantage - Salaries are slightly less than the industry average for all positions - A few bad managers are there because they know too much about the domain because of their tenures and can't be fired by senior management easily, even if senior management wants to get rid of them, make sure you don't end up on those teams-its the biggest WARNING I can give you; there are a very small number of dysfunctional teams at VPC (Toronto office), so do your research before applying
