Cons
Amateur management lacks experience, skill set and communication skills. Some seem to have ended up in leadership roles by default or due to the organizations lack of finding people fit with the appropriate skill set to occupy vacancies. There are a lot of structural issues because knowledge and processes are not put in place, adhered to or passed down by management. They are too busy putting out fires because they lack the know how in what they are doing.
