Pros
Great co-workers and staff in other departments, benefits, get to put emory on a resume
Cons
Emory used to be a great place to work in my experiences there. Every department is different however there has been a recent shift in priorities. It’s very obvious in meetings, huddles, reviews, etc. that money is the singular driving factor of any decisions about operations. My department is run like a factory with no regard for employee safety, burn out or accuracy. The best way to describe how disconnected it has become from patient care is this: decisions are being made about patient care and health by people who push financial agendas and budgets with little to no inclusion of actual medicine or science. High turn over, large divide between upper management and the rest of the hospital, low pay in comparison to other hospitals, very slow moving with decision making or changes, constantly short staffed.
