Pros

Good compensation, great benefits/perks, and plenty of overtime. If you are willing to move to climb the corporate ladder, you can climb quickly with the right degree(s) and work history.

Cons

As a member of the service organization, I feel as if I am a tool, a worn tool...not necessarily a favorite tool. I am a tool that will be used until it breaks, then I will be replaced. When I started, it was not this way. I felt valued. I spent time with my family. I felt my opinion mattered. Now, there is no recovery time, no down time. Very few days off. Days off are spent in a hotel, away from family. What kind of a life is this? When will I break? Do you want me to break? It is confusing, because at one point, this was my very favorite job. I feel betrayed.

Pros

Great immediate supervisor and their boss. Made top-down communications tolerable. Great co-workers and great collaboration that lifted the entire team.

Cons

(1) RIF based on tenure, not performance. HR is too powerful a department, and everyone fears it. (2) Tenure made you lazy, killed creativity, initiative, and promoted a "yes" culture. (3) During COVID layoffs, CEO pay went from $3.7 million to $15.x million, while employees endured 25% furloughs for 3 months, and management 10% reduction in pay for 6 months - explain how that is reasonable. (4) CEO declared DEI as the way forward for career mobility, and a lot of young, promising talent walked out the door, including DEI-qualified minorities. (5) I was one of those minorities.
