Pros
competitive pay, insurance coverage starts upon hiring, work at home, bonuses when quality score high, dedicated employees, telephonic case management, 401K, vacation days, sick days. Volunteer opportunities. Anthem is a nice place to work, however, because it is so large of a company with a lot of turnover, managers and directors (at least in my 5 years as a CalPERS case manager) come and go making it a challenge to feel comradery.
Cons
On-boarding is confusing, high turnover in case managers, mangers and directors. Chronically short staffed, Antiquated healthcare system programs, micro-management, constant and redundant auditing of calls and charting, bonuses distributed at the discretion of manager only, set number of vacation days never increases, heavy use of, and need for IT.
