      Pros

      I loved working for Elastic. I was working with intelligent, friendly, and caring people. The benefits were great. The culture seemed amazing.

      Cons

      In November 2022, after 2.5 years of working for Elastic, I received an email in the middle of my workday, telling me that there's been a layoff, and this is my last day. It felt like the world crumbled around me. Nobody could tell me why this happened. The company just presented their financial results about a week ago, and they were doing well. I also never learned why I was one of the "chosen". After all the talk about being different and caring deeply for their employees, the company turned around and showed their real face. It wasn't pretty.

      Great technology, good pay + benefits, fully remote work

      Cons

      Channel leadership has no connections or experience in the space and has essentially been rolled into ‘enablement’ , they have zero clue how to properly scale a channel business yet admit that’s what is needed to scale. The GTM strategy is also a mess, they say the focus this new is to solely focus on one of our three offerings, yet no plan how to scale that one offering ‘security’ only doing so because that’s where the comp is crushing us. The market is very saturated and Elastic is falling behind the competition. All of the sellers don’t trust or like the sales leadership as well and has been TONS of turnover and company wide RIF (7% of workforce) announced today. The CRO is strong but he seems checked out and waiting for the equity to cash so he can get out. CEO is also in way over his head.
