Pros
The Fellowship is designed to push you past your comfort zone and believed capacity to unlock the potential you have yet to discover. During my two years of the Fellowship, I was able to accomplish more than I ever thought possible, and I was a part of incredible projects that were and are truly making a difference in the lives of people in Colorado. Being mentored by leaders in philanthropy and working alongside the most intelligent and sincere people are a few of the many benefits that come with this role.
Cons
As I mentioned, this role is meant to push you, and as it says in the title, drinking from a firehouse is how your work can feel at times. I look back on it fondly now but in the moment those obstacles/challenges were frustrating and at times it felt like there were not enough hours in the day. If you decide to apply and potentially take this journey you have to come into it with an open mind and a passion for the mission. So when you experience those frustrations and challenges your commitment to the mission, overwhelming support from your peers and leadership , and the trust you have in the program/process will fuel you through any obstacles and allow you to see the success and accomplishments of your work.
