Pros

Great opportunity to learn, earn your license, and work with incredible people who are passionate about what they do.

Cons

Product offering is not competitve but might get better with the new acquisition of The Mutual Fund Store. Oddly, for a compay whose core business is 401k plans - the one offered to employees is lackluster and the company match is only 4%.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Financial Engines and for your feedback on developing people through career paths and learning opportunities. We are on a path to bring our full financial services to market, only six months post a major integration (as you mention, the acquisition of the Mutual Fund Store) the broader offering is being well received and we're poised for growth. I appreciate your perspective on the 401k; we do offer a very comprehensive full portfolio of benefits which are enhanced each year - it's definitely in our plans to continue to enhance our 401k as well. All the best, Gina Cruse, EVP Human Resources gcruse@financialengines.com

Pros

- Great team from department head down - Collaboration is encouraged - Self-starter culture with good room for side projects - "See something, say something" approach allows questioning methodology without a feeling of personal attacks or "dumb questions" and enables team members to support each other in a safe environment - Work from home

Cons

- Executive leadership does not know what they want - Consistent turnover in C-Suite leads to departments acting like small internal companies rather than part of a larger system - Limited permission access for team members means that any absence or time-off can lead to a backlog of deployments
