Pros

The people are very nice and there is a great team spirit. You get to learn so much about sustainability, which is great if you're just starting your career. Great number of vacation days and work/life balance.

Cons

Salary is pretty low, there are limited opportunities for future advancement, all new hires are fresh grads, and the team overall has little experience. High turnover. Tasks are unchallenging and repetitive.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and we are very glad to hear that you enjoyed working with the team as well as the great team spirit we have worked hard to cultivate at Ecometrica. We are very proud of the work/life balance we offer which is demonstrated in several ways including the number of vacation days, which are the same for everyone regardless of where they are based or how long they have been at the company. We are however sorry you weren’t as happy with your salary and felt you had limited opportunities. Whilst we are an SME and may not have the same number of opportunities as perhaps larger organisations, we do have clear Junior-Intermediate-Senior levels of progression within roles. We also encourage all employees to carve out their own path within Ecometrica in a way that is personally fulfilling and will assist commercially with reaching the company’s goals. It is true that, along with most companies globally, the aftermath of Covid brought with it an increased number of leavers. This is not something we had experienced before and we know we have to work hard to ensure we provide a satisfying workplace experience for all of our employees. We would be happy to have a further discussion with you if you would like to email us at people@ecometrica.com.

Pros

Ecometrica is an absolutely lovely workplace to be part of. It is a small to mid-size company, where upper management makes special efforts to communicate and reach out to the employees. Middle management is always available/communicative as well, and go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable with the work tasks given. If you are just starting out, it can be a steep learning curve but you learn a lot, very quickly, with the support of middle management and colleagues. There is a lot of room to grow and you if you are open to it, you get to see many sides and departments of the company. There are great prospects for the field of GHG accounting, GIS mapping and climate risk analyses, etc. This company is never stagnant, and always looking for new opportunities, clients, and business partners. The benefits and vacation are also **excellent**. Overall, the people here are kind, flexible, motivating, supportive, and understanding. I would 100% recommend it.

Cons

At very busy periods of the year, it can be tough to take any time off, and some overtime might be needed. But the pros very much outweigh this one con!

Pros

You get to work with very nice people.

Cons

HR is a one person team with a lack of empathy. The company pretends to care about your well-being and feedback but if you bring issues up you are told there are no problems or that these issues are not real. There is also a lack of transparency regarding salaries, pay rises and promotions which seem to be driven by favouritism and, depending on your manager, sexism. A pay rise or promotion might only be obtained if you are in your manager’s good books, even though your work is top quality and you are not offered any feedback on improvements. Over time employees feel undervalued and resentment builds up. The politics of “get on with it or leave” is dominating, leading to very high turnover rates (which management or HR don’t seem to be concerned about).

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. It is obviously very disappointing to hear you felt like there is a lack of empathy as empathy is a core value at Ecometrica. We will actively take on board your comments and try to improve how we work and communicate, particularly as we grow. As a small company, we don’t have the same rigid pay structures that you might find in larger organisations, but we do link pay to progression and development, and seek to support and empower employees to forge their own path in line with company goals while providing more specific development objectives for specific roles. We want to ensure we provide an engaging working environment for all of our teams and we are constantly looking for ways to improve this. We would value your suggestions. If you would be open to a further discussion on this or equally, would like to discuss anything further, please email people@ecometrica.com.
