It’s a great place to feel like you’re part of something bigger than just your own role. • Fast-paced, challenging and interesting work • The work is also varied - mini-projects are regularly started, allowing inter-departmental learning and mixing • Intelligent, friendly and ambitious colleagues • Ideas ‘flying around’ everywhere. If you’ve got a theory or an idea, speak to the right people and they will support you in building something to fix/improve processes • Decisions are made based on analytics and evidence, wherever possible • Open plan, modern office with coffee machines, a decent ‘break-out’ area with a pool table and a terrace - great for lunching in the summer • A number of employees have moved around departments to find a role that is more suited to them. If you add value to the business, there is genuine flexibility for your position • The business continues to expand its product offering to clients, allowing more specialised and lucrative sales strategies to those who master the job
Cons
It’s probably a fairly tough place to work as a junior business developer. But if you can stick it out, the potential rewards are substantial. • Interdepartmental communication is often lacking • Fast-pace work and rapid growth of the business often means priorities can be changed with little notice. Potentially a con for some people - personally I find this invigorating. Worth thinking about, however • Benefits package and pension plan is rather stingy - the match is only the percentage required by statute
