- Heavily exposed to market macroeconomics. The market downturn of 2023 force the company to cut cost, result in lesser increment and bonus. There are also lesser client companies/projects to work with. However, to be fair, the company didn't do any mass layoff. - As employees are mostly deployed at client side, the manager are heavily "detached" from employee's day-to-day performance, and can cause mismatch during performance review. - Working environment (colleague/manager that you work with day-to-day, work-life balance and culture) are heavily dependents on which client company you deployed to, so take other reivew's comment on working environment with a grain of salt. Some of the cons listed above are not entirely the company's fault, but rather the "nature" of a consultant company. But I still want to highlight it here so you can compare the pros and cons working in a consultant company vs directly under a company.
