Pros

This is honestly the best company I’ve ever worked for. The support from HR has been amazing — I had a small issue with my pay once and they helped me sort it out really quickly. Every time I’ve spoken to Central HR, they’ve been kind, helpful, and genuinely care about us. HR often gets a bad rep, but EMCOR’s HR team is brilliant. My manager is also really supportive and always has our backs, especially when things get tricky with customers or colleagues. I’ve had great training which has helped me feel confident in my role. Even senior leaders like the CEO and HR Director have come to site and remembered my name — that really means a lot.

Cons

There aren’t many cons to be honest. Sometimes mistakes happen, but they get fixed quickly. The only thing that can feel a bit uncertain is when we go through retenders, but that doesn’t happen often.

Pros

Company morale has teetered on the brink of "hey we're doing okay" and "yikes this place is going down" for the past five years I've worked here. I've been fortunate enough to miss the mass layoffs, and to have worked with some absolutely amazing people, both immediate colleagues and subcontractors (some of which are interesting characters). There's usually not a dull moment, especially if you work in Operations during snow season. Flexible work/life balance--although that's dependent upon who your supervisor is.

Cons

The opportunity to advance is dependent upon who taps you on the shoulder and encourages you to apply. It's frustrating to see people move up who many not necessarily deserve a promotion. Those who want to learn more, gain more training, and have a sincere desire to move up the ranks tend to be overlooked if they don't have a "buddy" higher up. One particular department is "the boys club" meaning there are no women who work on the management team. Very discouraging.
