Pros

Great, nice and ambitious people.

Cons

Where to even begin. The root cause to everything wrong here are the two founders. Smart ambitious guys yes, but inexperienced with little to no touch with reality, They do work around the clock but on all the wrong things. The CEO spent half a year in Germany when that market launched only to sit in a meeting room all day every day instead of helping the team itself grow and nurture them. And that highlights the lack of inexperience. There is little to no trust in the teams and the founders are participating in every team meeting. The micro management is on a whole new level. Teams are rarely allowed to voice their concerns. If a topic is raised it is mostly ignored or met with a distasteful suppressing comment. The message is clear. This is our company we do it our way. This leads me to the next topic. Employee churn. During the last year many new faces have come and gone. More have gone than come in fact. And Involuntarily to be precise. If you are not eye to eye with the founders with everything you are as good as out. No warnings or talks beforehand. There is rarely any reason given why you are let go. Blame is almost always put on outside factors like investors or similar. The final topic is the culture. Or rather lack of. Simply put there is no culture. Nor is there any efforts in creating one. My way or the highway is the so far the the only thing that has stuck. Direct messages are sent in the evening and even the night. The tone of voice is horrible, and there is no room for employee wellbeing. A company this size should be a tight knitted group but no. This has not been a learning experience it has been a draining experience. Do yourself a favour and stay clear.

Pros

- High potential for career development. - With a team this size, you are able to influence the direction of the company. First-principles thinking is applied in most decisions. - Leadership is compassionate, which is critical for any company, but especially for startups. - Strong mentality of succeeding together, which is seen in the way people collaborate. - Ability to work flexibly, whether remotely, in an office, or in a hybrid model

Cons

- At times, leadership can succumb to micromanagement which comes from a place of care, but in the long run, is costly to the company as leadership has less time to focus on core responsibilities while reducing teams' effectiveness by eroding their decision making mandate. This feedback is recognized by the leadership, and I've seen good progress since this was first raised. - Venture capital funded startups need to move fast to succeed. This often involves rapidly evolving strategy, shifting priorities, and periods of intense work, which can understandably be stressful.
