Pros

- Flexible schedule (ability to work from home and travel) - Pay was decent (very rarely got promotions though) - The branding is fun

Cons

The leadership for the Growth team is AWFUL. Things started to shift around late 2023 when there were some new hires. Because the Retail business is booming, DTC is not performing well. Instead of working together with Retail, they were still trying to push DTC to hit the same goals even though it's way more expensive on the website and customers have to pay for shipping. Nobody will listen to the mid/junior level media buyers about their ideas and the best way to address these business concerns. The management acts super fake and nice to your face and then they are super shady behind your backs. There were MULTIPLE people on the Growth team that complained to HR about management and guess what happened... they laid off most of the people who complained instead of addressing management concerns. It was such a shame to watch this department burn. I was hoping to stay here for YEARS but unfortunately, they made really dumb decisions that caused the growth team to run completely into the ground. DO NOT join the growth team here!!! It's just a ticking time bomb.

Pros

Dr. Squatch has a fun brand and genuinely enjoyable team events. The people are largely kind and the culture on the surface feels collaborative. The work itself is interesting if you’re passionate about CPG and personal care.

Cons

The management style operates more like a consulting firm than a consumer brand — you are either exceeding expectations or you are out. There is very little formal coaching or development support, and expectations are not always clearly communicated before you are held accountable for them. I experienced a situation where I went from a positive performance review to a formal disciplinary process within weeks, with no documented corrective steps in between. When I proactively sought coaching and feedback, that initiative was used as the foundation for discipline rather than being met with genuine support. Accommodation processes were not handled properly and HR was largely absent from conversations where they should have been present.
