Pros

I have been working for Downstream Services for about 10 years now. This company will acknowledge your strengths and guide you in a direction where you can use them. There is plenty of room for growth and they are consistently training and promoting within the company in order to maintain a safe and knowledgeable team. Downstream Services provides a variety of unique services that allows their employees to diversify their skill sets and explore new talents they may not have been aware of. If you enjoy working with your hands, developing solutions to new and existing problems, and looking for a company to grow with, Downstream Services is for you!

Cons

Downstream Services will often have work where you will need to travel and stay out of town (hotels and per diem paid for). This is usually only for a few weeks at a time, but if you can not work out of town under any circumstances, this may be a downside for you. The majority of work is local.

Pros

For some people this is a pretty good place to work. If the controller Becky and the Roberts family likes you, you can do no wrong. If they don’t, you can keep your job if you show up and work hard, you just wont ever get promoted. If any one of them doesn't like you, just leave, because they will all turn on you. Safety Manager is great and is the only reason that place is safe to work at. She regularly gets push back but still does a great job.

Cons

Unless you are one of the favorites you are just labor to them. Benefits are expensive and they don't cover your family. I paid $400 a month just to cover myself. They don’t think anyone wants or needs life insurance. Lots of Trumpers working here, which shows in the way they care about money more than people. Communication with me (HR) was insufficient and not always helpful. Overall I was treated like a secretary who expected too much pay for my very unappreciated contributions. They did not value HR at all. Felt it was an unnecessary expense.
