Cons
Sexual harassment and forms of stalking are a common reoccurrence for women within the workplace. When reported, nothing happens to the harasser other than being “placed on another team” or moved to another department within the same building. Men continuously get allowed to talk and treat women how they wish, the playing field occurs via Microsoft Teams. Beware of this, as nobody within upper management or HR will handle the situation properly, and will not blame the abuser for their actions. It will be a situation of what YOU could have and should have done. With that being said, they have no problem reprimanding employees for attendance. This even includes those on FMLA. Attendance is used against all employees for performance reviews that determine raises, so hardly any employee of the company is eligible for a yearly pay increase - this includes cost of living increase. Overtime is allowed, however extra hours worked do not counter any missed hours. Management and HR are not respected in their roles as they are all either in personal relationships with one another, family ties to the owners of the company, or someone with the same religious beliefs. No real leadership. All of the actual leaders and employees that could make a difference are in lower leadership (TL or PM) or non-leadership roles and will never be presented with the opportunity to move up within the company. They will and continue to hire on new employees with a higher salary than those who have been with the company for many years. This could be understandable if they were hiring new employees that hard prior experience, yet that is not the case. New employees and senior employees are just a number that they think can be replaced. The training that is given is pointless. Leads still end up spending countless hours re-training. HR states they try to constantly boost morale, however, since DSR has had an HR team, morale has just gotten worse due to the reasons above. The company environment is similar to being in high school again. DSR used to be a “family” company, family as in treating all employees as if they are family. Now, DSR is a “family” company meaning that all upper management and HR are family members or family ties, which ultimately the reason for the role they have within the company. Salary is equivalent to minimum wage, yet the work required is above average than your normal minimum wage job. You will be over utilized and over worked.
