Pros

There are a small amount of the managers at Direct Group who demonstrate professionalism and show their integrity to employees and customers alike. However, this does not make up for the awful management skills demonstrated by the vast majority of team leaders and their assistants.

Cons

Direct Group as a company do not value the well being of their employees at all, to them profit is more important. I feel that the values they seem to champion themselves on are nothing more than a empty promises that the company makes to its employees. Many of the manager at Direct Group do not appear to have had any formal management training, indicated by their inconsistency of applying processes and blatant lack of discretion when it comes to employee relations. I've seen many of my colleagues have their contracts unfairly terminated and I have recently left DG because couldn't continue to work for a company who put their desire to generate revenue above the physical and mental health of their employees. With a promise of multiple benefits that have never come, management do nothing but undermine and patronise their already overworked employees which is reflected in their high turnover rate.

Pros

Some great people to work with in the office - very friendly and welcoming.

Cons

No promotion opportunities; jobs for the boys at top end; poor salary; demotivated work force; unsociable hours; Appalling HR dept., no structured training and minimal opportunities to take further qualifications.

Pros

None. Really really really none.

Cons

Just don't even bother working here. It won't do you any favours in the long term and won't look good on your CV. Management support is a joke and they work the staff as hard as possible before they burn out and leave. HR is inept and won't stand up to the senior management or help their staff. Working practices are borderline illegal (try tripling your caseload and then blaming you when you feel stressed out), expected to work 15 hours days, changing company policy just because the senior HR manager feels like it, crap back office support, very much jobs for the boys at senior level. I once drove 5 hours each way for a 90 minute meeting. From what I hear it's so much of a revolving door there's simply no stable staff. Senior management routine lie and manipulate you. Seriously, if you're considering working here - don't.
