Software Engineer - Software Engineer Digital Foundry Employee Review

Pros

You will learn a lot of technologies and work with some cool people. At the time, they were focused on projects using full Microsoft stack (.NET, SQL Server, C#, IIS) as well as web front end (HTML, CSS, JS). Some Java and mobile projects too.

Cons

Pay was horrible. I hear they have improved a lot, but at the time it was criminally low. Hours are not flexible. One time an employee had to work late the night before for a deployment and had to use vacation time to come in late another day. Not many perks compared to other tech companies (free food, snacks, games, outings, etc.) No real flexibility to work from home or adjust your hours. Working late or extra hours was not appreciated. No rewards or additional bonuses even though all that extra time was being charged to the client and the company was making lots of money on it.

Pros

- Smart, driven, genuinely nice people. Very low turnover. Many employees have been here 10+ years which says a lot about the company and leadership. - Culture is relaxed, fun, and social if you want it to be. traditions include an annual hawaii trip, game nights, and basketball/running clubs. - Management is approachable and invested. leadership team is small and they take time to know employees and actively support growth and success. - Company is small, fairly flat, and there's very little bureaucracy which makes it easy to have a voice and get things done - Strong self-starter culture. room to grow and take on more responsibility if you're proactive and motivated. - Diverse projects across multiple industries and technologies. teams are small which gives you real responsibility and client exposure - Excellent work/life balance. late nights and weekends are rare. - Good benefits including bonuses, profit sharing, PTO, and hawaii trip

Cons

- Base salaries are below industry average, but bonuses and other benefits help narrow the gap - Not necessarily a con, but many employees are senior and long tenured, so if you're looking for a quick promotion to management, this probably isn't the place for you. Standing out requires consistent effort and initiative.
