Pros
I've worked for many NGOs and non-profits, and Devoted Health is by far the most mission-driven organization I've worked at. Everyone truly and deeply cares about doing what's right for our members, and is given the latitude to go the extra mile to do so. All of my colleagues are also truly effective, creative, genuinely caring professionals, and I learn so much from my colleagues everyday. Company leadership also does a good job of being transparent about company data and priorities and creating a culture where people from all levels of the organization are able to put forth ideas and solve problems and the best idea, no matter where it comes from, wins.
Cons
The company moves really quickly, which can be overwhelming, especially at first, for people who have never worked at a start-up before. While it's not the expectation, because everyone at the company is so mission-driven and diligent, a lot of people work long hours, but managers are good about being flexible with things like kids pick up, doctors appts, etc., so I've never had an issue with work/life balance.
