Pros

The students are lovely and the building well maintained. Some great staff who care deeply about their students and community.

Cons

Poor leadership. Bulling culture, from the top down. Ineffective head teacher put in place. Leadership is very much a ‘boys club’. Unless you’re in the clique you won’t progress. If you go for an interview elsewhere you’ll get told ‘you’ll never work for the trust again’. Money wasted on branding and leadership retreats, when we can’t afford TAs for SEND kids. Awful. So glad to be out. Such a shame as kids are fab.

Pros

Good training opportunities for staff

Cons

Very difficult environment to work in. As soon as delta took over and their style of management became apparent, lots of staff felt they could no longer carry on working at the school. Some had been there for decades. Their practices can be unethical, the head provide little to no support. Often talking down at staff and you were made to feel like you didn’t know anything. There was a constant shaft shortage, and their manner of working meant they failed to retain new staff as well. This meant you would be pulled all across school to fill in. You could be admin in the office covering in a nursery or a reception class. Or you could be a year 6 staff member pulled into cover lunch. This would go on for the best part of a year as well. Alongside this you would be expected to still fulfill some of your primary role too. If you’re on a high wage due to experience they will make your life so difficult, you will have no choice but to leave. This paves the way for cheap nqt’s and ect’s.
