Salary increases were consistently withheld from those who were not part of the leadership circle. Interviews were conducted by employees rather than trained professionals, which often meant that highly qualified candidates were overlooked if they appeared more competent than the interviewer. A shift toward a control-focused culture was abruptly introduced by a single leader, and the C-level executives opted to support his approach without further assessment
