Pros

There are very few hardworking people.

Cons

I was at DataComm Networks for almost 8 years. In the beginning it was not so bad. I was willing to work as much as necessary to get my job done. (Just noting now that I did so much at this company that since I've left they have 4-5 people that have replaced parts of my job and can't keep up.) I was very dependable and even worked while on vacation (which was always expected). As the years went on, my job grew in requirements, but my salary did not. I was severely taken advantage of. Over the last 3 years my increases were little to none (maybe paid for a tank of gas each pay day.) I was told no one was getting raises, my job had reached it's maximum salary, etc. (all lies). In the end my attitude got very bad and I started looking for jobs and realized how severely under paid I was. There is no room for growth. There are no proactive measures. You are constantly putting out fires. Raises are given based on what the CFO "thinks" of you, not your job performance or what your manager has promised. While there is no money for anyone to get raises, the upper management walks around telling people how much money they spend on cars and houses.

We appreciate your review. As employees leave, we wish them well and think positively about what they have done for the company. Unfortunately, a select few, look to sites like these to speak poorly about a company that they cared about. We love our employees and treat them like family. Our employee's children also find the environment welcoming - a home away from home. We do outside activities that bring families together and allow us to see each other in a different light. We hope that you can move on and find happiness in your future endeavors.

Pros

Too many pros/benefits to list. There is a high level of autonomy and agency provided to tackle tasks and projects creatively and the way you see fit. It is a great feeling to be surrounded by others that are committed and take ownership and pride in their work.

Cons

This is not directed toward the company. There are some colleagues that should focus on improving their own personal development so they can show up as their best selves in all aspects in their life, including the professional life.

Pros

Good friendly coworkers. The ability to learn many tools and products. Free lunch occasionally.

Cons

Little to no training budget, and no preparation on customer supported products. You learn in production often at the cost to the customer time and money. No room for advancement. Once you have the position; there is no moving around. Overworked in every area, no work life balance at all. Sales driven culture. They focus more on gaining new business rather than fostering the long term relationships leading to a poor customer experience and high turnover. Management refuses employee freed back and spends most of their time fighting between themselves. There is no clear chain of command and your time is re-prioritized at random based on which manager/ owner thinks their task is most important. This can happen multiple times daily.

I appreciate your review. I wish you nothing but the best in the future. Unfortunately this site does not always offer a clear assessment, but instead a forum to anonymously lash out at a former employer. Our employee retention continues to exceed the local and national norm for our sector. If you are reading this review and are looking for corporate environment and not a family owned business, this may not be the place for you.
