Pros

Large company with decent benefits, good for networking and getting your feet wet if you are new to the manufacturing industry.

Cons

Extremely politcal, and corporate environment if you work in the office and are not traveling employee. The top managers that come from the headquarters in Japan are sexist and demoralizing. Daikin North America is a subsidiary of Daikin Industries, which is the owner/parent company based out of Japan. The mentality from upper management is very sexist and racist towards Americans of all colors. I worked directly under a manager who was brought to America from Daikin Japan, because they did not trust "lazy" Americans to properly manage their "workers" efficiently, and you have to be TOUGH to stay with this group for long. Two stars because I did love the type of work I did at Daikin, however it was not worth being made to feel inferior, and expected to work overtime everyday. Like others have said, if you have NO LIFE outside of work and prefer to have a job with a company that expects you to sacrifice time with your family, or other personal obligations for the "good of the company" then this is the place for you! This ties into the Japanese worth ethic, and culture diversity between how it is in Japan and the US... the directors from Daikin Japan speak badly of employees based on their sex, ethnicity, education level, and appearance.

Pros

Its in a nice building

Cons

Insane lack of communication; left alone after 3 hours on my first day. Did the work they wanted but not fast enough and they had a backup waiting to take my place and were not coy or secretive about that whatsoever. Was told not to bring lunch my first day. So I didn't bring lunch my first day. They did not provide lunch on my first day. I went out and bought food and then came back and worked alone the rest of the day. My trainer had retired years prior from a different company and couldn't understand that a PDF could be opened more than one way. What a relief I did not stick around. Oh yeah and I got very sick when they called to lay me off, but they needed their stuff back. Do you think they sent a courier? Nah. I went in thd next day, still sick, and waited over 10 minutes until hopping the security gate because no one was there AND I WAS SICK. Yeah, shortly after I received my positive COVID results. Welp, that about sums up my short stint at this place. Legal dept was completely chaotic. Also the open floorplan was awful during covid.
