Pros

Amazing cafeteria, beautiful HQ, located in sunny Denver.

Cons

This 'One for All' culture may work in the field (because you need a healthy culture when getting paid so little), but at corporate, it means nothing. They say that 'Fun' is their other core value. More like 'Watch Your Back'. This is a business whose margins are completely dependent on Congressional Medicare funding (which continuously gets cut). If healthcare is a cost cutting business, DaVita is just that in overdrive (rightfully so). If you want to create a wholesome company culture, then yes, corporate should emulate what it wants in the field. Unfortunately, this is only skin deep. Unfortunately, you can have 99 great relationships at this company and 1 'so-so' outlier, and you could be at risk for termination. This is what happened to me. While they 'pride' themselves on transparency, people are still people and politics and prejudices get in the way. All I'm saying is this: don't treat this company like the best thing since sliced bread, be direct and aggressive, forget the popsicles and rainbows, and you should be fine.

Pros

Management supports a work-life balance, hours are flexible, okay benefits. Good training opportunities and there is effort by management to support a good work culture. 6 weeks at 80% of pay Paternity/Maternity & Adoption leave. 401K with 6% matching. For 2 adults, we pay for Davita's Anthem BCBS healthcare plan and it is $350/month (4,700 deductible).

Cons

Payscale isn't aggressive - 1% raise each year. You also may be asked to cover other clinics temporarily without fair compensation for the extra workload.
