Pros

All of the people, certainly on the technical side of the company (Product/Engineering/Design) are really friendly and want to grow this business. They've worked in the technology or gaming industry before and are really knowledgable and happy to help with anything. The personal growth opportunities are good, there's a high level of independence so you can find yourself diving into projects you have no knowledge on and learning as you go. CTO is an extremely nice guy, great vision and technical knowledge. Management style is relaxed but everybody is down for the grind and gets the job done. It's nice to have a calm head in the management/executive team. Company was fast to act with Covid and was prepared for remote working and overall, the flexbility was good.

Cons

Operations team at an executive level have not worked in real tech before and lack a a lot of understanding. A senior executive from the technology industry is needed here to take the reigns from an operational standpoint. Environment of micromanaging outside of tech teams. Lots of meetings for no real reason, sometimes they existed to micromanage and sometimes they were there for managers to feel like they were doing something constructive. Extremely difficult to be promoted with a spaghetti organisational structure. Little to no praise from management for a job well done unless you part of the "inner circle". Path to profitability is very much unclear.

Hello, Thank you so much for writing this review we appreciate it. I am pleased to read that your experiences were generally good and you felt the team were friendly and knowledgeable. This is particularly important to us that the talent we have in the business can share their industry experience and help solve problems together. I am sorry to read that you felt there is a lack of progression and feedback from management. This is something we know we need to work on. We have hired at pace, certainly in 2020, but we are looking at ways to ensure everyone is valued and progression and feedback are certainly part of that. You also mentioned the need for a new strategy, we did take some time to review in December 2020 and in January launched our new strategy for 2021 which will focus the teams and drive everyone in the direction that we need to take so that the game is optimised for success. Part of that is really putting users and their experiences at the forefront of our game design. Finally, DREST is a start-up as you mentioned, which means we will have some learning and growing pains as we continue to push ourselves. That also means that due to the pace of change and creativity there will be inefficiencies that are created but we are working on improving those along with our organisation design and structure.
