Pros

n.a ( it is all based on a fiction )

Cons

The job description made it appear as if there was already an establishment and they just needed a German speaker to join an existing team. However, things were definitely not as they seemed. Where do I begin: - First of all, you are told that you will be under DP EVENTS MANAGEMENT - then you are told it will be Hafnium for whatever legal situations and be shown around an office on 37th floor, ONE CANADA SQUARE - then you find out that it isn't DP EVENTS MANAGEMENT, but rather 'Hafnium' however when you take calls you represent DEPABIS (another firm) which is under Hafnium which again is under DP EVENTS MANAGEMENT (already confusing) - Next you will be told that your payments will be done slightly differently - you will be paid through germany still in the english pound sterling under DP FORUMS GMBH - assigned a phone with a german phone number and using ExpressVPN to not 'upset' Germans he says, letting them find out you are actually not based in Duesseldorf but actually sitting in an office in Canary Wharf - because of BREXIT and they are afraid if the germans hear anything concerning England that it would upset them. this man has been making various discriminating/ offensive comments about the Germans and joked about them because he felt that he was in the position - that he could. - Another con: he would make you call other competitive organisations they see as threats - impersonating somebody else - to retrieve valuable information to use as leverage and find out how they could make use of the competitor's suppliers & buyers list - he asked me to create a linkedin account - listing my position as the 'Manager' and that I have been actively working for DEPABIS (because he didn't want to reveal DP EVENTS MANAGEMENT) FOR 5+ YEARS - said if I don't do this, I will not be able to prove of relevance within the sales function - knowing it didn't sit well with me portraying something I am not, impersonating somebody I am not and lying throughout to get what I want - it went against my own persona beliefs and values. - I started questioning him about what the values of the company were, which Company I am actually representing, and perhaps explain the procedures, structure and values of the company so I have a fair idea of what I am dealing with. Finally, he is NEVER on time, always texts/calls/bombards you in inappropriate times outside the working hours span (he could call me at 9pm at night asking me to do work for him - this was also attempted when I haven't yet started for him and i thought it would stop) - he leaves you to be there and already expects you to know everything right from the first day, as he and nobody in the company has the time to TRAIN STAFF - COACH, SUPERVISE OR ASSIST THEIR COLLEAGUES. - if you ask too many questions you get fired - if you question his unethical ways - you get reported to only he is allowed to contact - because when I contacted another director of the firm regarding a work query he flipped - threw equipment on the table, hitting his laptop, fidgiting around and in the end - dismissed me because I didn't respond immediately when he was in my face waving at me and BECAUSE i reached out to another director - this company made me see all the things I don't want to be involved with and realise the importance of working for a structured organisation with morals, rules, hr team for resolving issues, and actuals ETHICS. - if by when you apply you are 'Telesales advisor' JD says Marketing Coordinator but on linkedin and business cards he makes you a manager with 5+ years experience - that is considered career opportunities then you have that there for sure
