Pros
As for the pros, there’s honestly nothing that stands out.
Cons
I worked at DM Clinical for over a year and had different managers during that time. Initially, the manager was okay, but things significantly worsened after a new manager was hired. They brought in someone who displayed openly racist behavior, including pointing fingers at immigrant employees. Leadership seemed more concerned with their own interests than addressing what was happening at the site level. The manager in question would ask employees to convince others to stop filing HR complaints against her. She constantly threatened staff, saying things like, “If this doesn’t get done, you’ll regret it when you’re all gone in January.” She was completely out of touch with what was happening on the site and had no understanding of how the floor operations worked. This toxic environment was a major reason I started looking for other jobs. The CEO even referred to laid-off employees as “a burden to the company.” Now, the company is pressuring PIs to enroll ineligible subjects because they’re financially struggling. HR offers no support. When I reported an incident of someone being offensive toward me, they dismissed it, saying it might’ve been a joke. Favoritism is rampant at all levels, and HR even publicly stated that it’s normal to have favorites and promote them. The benefits offered are extremely expensive, and the organization is highly disorganized—it took weeks for them to pay me money they owed. On top of everything, there’s a trend where they expect employees to stay until 9 PM to enroll participants without offering any compensation for the extra hours. In my experience, DM Clinical is a toxic and poorly managed company. I would strongly advise others to stay away.
